Practical Considerations...

I wrote this the other day at Arctic Patriot's place.  It doesn't deserve a full column, but full dissemination is appropriate.

Of the big gun makers in the world, most live and die by the Government Contract. Big Uncle buys a lot, LEO buys a lot, foreign friendly Governments buy a lot, and every Tyrant on the planet buys Glock, Colt, Beretta, Walther, Browning, Kalishnikov, et al.

The smaller companies simply have no pull in the industry. Sad to say, but if Big Uncle told the big firearms makers in America to stop selling to American Civilians or lose their US contracts and export licenses, they'd do it.

In any full-blown Ruckus, I hope our North East (and elsewhere) Patriots understand how important those factories are, to both sides. I hope every Patriot has done his research and learned basic metalsmithing for DIY.

Do with these thoughts what you will.

  1. I remember that, and I think you make some very good observations. The companies will do what is best for them in the long run, and that's to keep their big customers happy.

The strategic implications that could stem from your line of reasoning are enormous.

    Good call.
