Just a bit of food for thought...


To give you an idea of the scope and direction and possibilities regarding the Citadel: There is currently a 3,006 acre tract of land available in Shoshone County, to the immediate east of Coeur d'Alene and St. Maries. That is just a bit under 5 square miles. The asking price is higher than I'd like to pay, but that is immaterial at this stage of the game.

The terrain works, 8 miles of river and creek frontage works, the wildlife works.

The population for the entire county is 12,600 people, more than 40% of whom are younger than 18 or older than 65.

Those population numbers mean if we ramp up to 3,000 families in our town, we will have a voting block of perhaps 33% in the County, maybe more. I suspect III Patriots would easily move into the Sheriff's office and other important county offices very quickly.

Oh - and Judges in Idaho are elected. Any of you III Patriots look good in a black robe?

There are no significant towns in the entire county, the Citadel would be the largest. Yet, Coeur d'Alene is an easy drive on Interstate 90.

If we settle III Arms into such an environment, and purchase such a tract of land for development and population, we would be in an outstanding bargaining position with County and State officials to earn breaks (such as taxes, water use, et cetera) in return for the increase to the state coffers that will result from the increased tax base.

We would literally be carving out a bit of wilderness (close to a major interstate) and building a town where none now exist. III Pioneers.

No Liberals allowed. No RINOs allowed.

  1. It's your idea but that's a relativly remote area and that might be fine for a redoubt but not so great for a business.
    The two main reasons I recomended the Clearwater valley is river access to an ocean port and a fairly mild winter compared to the rest of the area.
    Check out the towns and area around Julietta, Kendrick, Lapwai, Troy, Deary and Orofino they all offer some good and some bad but I think being able to ship/inport goods via the river might be critical. Trusting iffy roads and snow removal there won't be good.
    North Idaho is infamos for having 3 seasons July, August and winter. In that area 2-4 foot of snow is the norm. Along Hiway 12 will give you a lot better winter weather with little snow.

  2. You may want to check on Native American "rights" within the area under consideration, as you have rivers....it's been a sore spot in Idaho ocasssionally when it comes to the taking of fish and game.

  3. I've never been to Murray, but I've been through Kellog many a time. Mining country. Now, they have some snow up there. Which doesn't bother me but I know some of y'all are made of sugar and you'll melt if you get wet... ;)

    Did you see who are neighbors were? Fed wilderness.

    As long as we stay out of Kootenai county we'll be okay.

  4. I am with Miss V on this one. Adjacent property - Federal? Other than that, it is quite beautiful. I am amazed at how clear the streams are. What kind of snowfall in those parts is what I am curious about.

    1. Oh, I didn't mean that was a bad thing. I mean doesn't that belong to US. ;) Just because the green commies don't think anyone should use it doesn't mean anything. Besides, that means no neighbors, woohoo.

  5. I guess the good thing about being a human weed is I can pretty much thrive wherever I'm planted. ;-) You guys choose, I'll be there. Does kind of remind me of house shopping with my mom. They've been looking for 10 years: too large, too small, too many neighbors, too remote, kitchen is backwards (?!). No place is going to be perfect, and it won't be paradise until we make it so. The federal land issue I get, but beyond that it's all little details.

  6. Odds are this particular property will be sold by the time we are in a position to go shopping - I used it as an example for terrain and population.

    Personally I wouldn't worry about Federal neighbors much. If/when FedGov implodes financially, it'll be our back yard. And it also means noone will build a shopping center on our flanks. ;)

Back when, there was a ranch of some 10,000 acres near White Bird (long-ass climb up that grade!!) for sale with all buldings intact for 1.2 million, if memory serves....I used to dream about owning that place...right near where Chief Joseph whupped the US Cavalry...I'm betting there are lots of good places all over Idaho for sale, for pennies on the dollar right now....

  7. Another thing to consider is even if the Jones next door are FedGov, the area is so removed from metro areas that it will not matter. As the most of the flying feathers will be east of the big river.

    If there is a resident or two in that area, that's it, a local ranger or park US Forest person. This would also give the opportunity to establish intel assets.

    In the end, no matter where it is decided, with in those property lines, liberty will flourish.

  10. Controlling a large voting block? Have you been reading the book "Molon Labe"? I sincerely wish I had the funds to contribute to this venture. We are barely keeping our heads afloat now. Given that, I fully support your ideas and actions.
