The Fallacy of...

Moreover, while boomers were almost all born into families where mother and father were married and living together, Hispanics have a 53 percent illegitimacy rate, African-Americans a 73 percent rate.

Among the white poor and working class, the illegitimacy rate is now 40 percent — almost twice as high as it was in black America when Pat Moynihan wrote his 1965 report on the crisis of the black family.

And between the illegitimacy rate and the drug-use rate, dropout rate, crime rate and incarceration rate, the correlation is absolute.

Some of us are often accused of always “crying wolf.”

But it is worth noting that one day the wolf came.

That is Pat Buchanan.  Here's the full piece.

Let's face facts, Patriots.  President Obama won, and he did it because more people voted for him and his policies than for Romney.  Yet 35% of Americans self-identify as "Conservative" and only 24% self-identify as "Liberal".  It goes to show that regardless of the label you like to put on yourself, one man's "Conservative" is another man's "Traitor to the Constitution".  As has been discussed on this blog for quite a while, just because a man likes to call himself a "Patriot", he may well just be another ass-hat.

Labels are meaningless.  Actions matter.  How you carry yourself matters.  How you treat your fellow Man, matters.

Whatever you thought the odds for Liberty might have been yesterday, the election results tonight should cause you to re-examine your numbers and expectations.  Many men call themselves "Patriots" and have no use for the Constitution, Founding Ideals, no intention of giving up their Government FSA checks, will call you an extremist and terrorist if you suggest Social Security is unconstitutional.

Not everyone who says he's on your team is really on your team.

I have no use for a "Big Tent" Liberty Movement that includes people who "...are all fighting for Liberty."  Scratch the surface, as we have seen time and again, and you learn that your idea of "Liberty" is often quite different from that other guy's idea of "Liberty".  Refusing to stand with such people is not "Dissension" - it is choosing sides.

Choose sides, Patriots.

Kenny offers his perspective, here.

But please have the courage to see the truth before you: President Obama is going to have four more years because a very large percentage of Americans chose him.  He won against a guy who is very ideologically similar.  Between the two politicians running for President tonight, about 150,000,000 of your fellow Americans voted for Monstrous Government that steals from the productive to give to non-productive (President Obama) and nearly Monstrous Government represented by Mitt Romney.

If you believe that it is morally repugnant for Government to take the possessions of one American to give to another American, you are in a very, very, very tiny minority.  If you believe that no man or group of men has the Right to tell you how to live, to dictate even a moral code for you, then you are among an even smaller minority.

You'd better come to grips with this reality: The current government of the United States of America has legitimacy given to it by the governed.  Period.  They voted for this government and what this government does on their behalf.

Use this information as you will.

    This is what I posted on FB;

Anyone out there still think we can vote our way out of this disaster, in the “normal” manner? If you honestly believe so, you are delusional and should seek immediately.
When our republic becomes a tyranny, I still get to vote, though it will be in a less than “normal” manner. It may be from the rooftops, behind a building or from a distant tree, and require a rifle, but I will vote! I will vote out all the petty tyrants and despots. For those usurpers of our freedoms that survive the "election" process, let them point at those who hang from lamp posts in the public square, so as to warn future oppressors of our liberty, of the fate that awaits them.

It would appear that Alex D Tocqueville was correct when he made the following statement; “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

Most of the problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living. It can’t work for long when (not if) it all falls apart. When it does fail (which it will) hell will look like a vacation in paradise. God bless us all and God Bless what is left of our Republic. -- William H Ford --

  3. Nothing has changed really. I voted for mittens hoping he'd give us a little time to get others prepared. I guess the public is good going Greek. It's freeing in a way.

  5. I thought of you and the III percent this morning when I saw the results. I realized before reading this that there isn't three percent that still favor the foundation of this nation. There might be a large percentage that want to believe they do, but they only want to believe. The percentage that actually favor the foundation are more likely around 1/10 of a percent. A very small minority. So I read your post and it only backs up what hit me this morning. I'm a minority. One a a very few. I'm good with that. Will the others realize this and decide to do something with it?

  6. Do you subscribe to Kenny's thoughts on a III who voted for Romney, K? According to him I should not use the symbol after my name from hereon out. As with the majority of us who did not like Romney, we voted for him to stave off the collapse so as to buy time to get our shit together. My reasoning was to buy time to get the Citadel built. Pretty sad when our little community is fighting over who is patriotic and who is a traitor - indicative of what is happening to our beloved nation.

    1. Cheryl: Nope, I do not agree that a vote for Romney invalidates one's claim to III, providing the motivation for casting that vote is sound.

Consider the same situation on the battlefield: You can't get to the other side's General, but you blow up a bridge to slow him down. That's how I see most III Patriots reasoning when it comes to voting for Romney - a delaying tactic.

But: I do absolutely believe that the *act* of voting is an Obligation. Even if one writes in Daffy Duck, I think the act of voting is a sacred requirement for anyone who claims to be patriotic. I understand the arguments for not voting, but I disagree if only on a single point: My ancestors fought, and some died, to ensure I would have the right to vote. To not exercise that right is a slap in their faces. (I believe the Obligation to vote reaches beyond ancestors, but that's for another discussion).

Just resign yourself to the knowledge that you are a part of a very tiny minority. Last night proves just how large the group of people is that think they have a moral right to what is in your pocket or pantry. They number well into the hundreds-of-millions.

      Stay safe.

    2. "But: I do absolutely believe that the *act* of voting is an Obligation."

Rookie...you didn't know there's no such thing as an unchosen obligation? Everyone can say there is, as loudly and as often as they wish, but it still won't exist.

Think about it. If an obligation is a state of mind--no matter what sort of state of mind--how could one person create it in another?

You probably shouldn't speak for them, and their faces aren't getting slapped in any event. Damn, I'm awfully glad that your ancestors weren't slaves. What would be my obligation then?

    3. Jim: I didn't say it was "unchosen". I accept the debt, indeed I created the debt in my own mind, as my ancestors never premised their fight on my acceptance of the debt. ;)

I operate under the Japanese concept of "on" regarding personal obligations. It is a choice, freely entered.

    4. Sounds good; sorry if I misunderstood. As you know, I have no gripes with whatever obligations anyone chooses. I just snipe when they start talking about mine, especially these days when there's a lot of that going on, everywhere.

    5. No worries. I knew that once I explained I voluntarily accepted the obligation that you'd get it.

In the end it is for each person to determine what they feel obligated to do, or not. ;)

    6. Sorry. Wrong is wrong no matter how you justify it.
And not wanting to get into a time wasting argument on another's site, this is the last I'll say here.

    7. "Wrong is wrong no matter how you justify it."

Right. Could you at least clarify what you believe is wrong? I'm asking because I can't find it---Sam's not wrong that he takes voting as an obligation, and I'm not wrong that there's no such thing as an unchosen obligation.

If Sam is wrong IYO, then he can deal with it as he wishes. If you believe I am wrong, then we can either leave it at that or I'm very willing to demonstrate why it's correct, at whatever site you wish.

Classic; well worth repeating. That's the problem right there. And look, Professor Violet already came up with the answer!

  8. I agree. In the coming weeks conservatives will parse the defeat every which way. But having an illusion finally and definitively ripped away is not without value, if it's embraced. The truth is, as stated above, that 150,000,000 Americans freely chose the short-term security of more welfare through expanding Leviathan government. Any other considerations become irrelevant. THAT is what 150,000,000 Americans want, prefer, choose. Take away that truth. Own it. Amerika has become a center-left nation, though it pretends to be otherwise. It's a nation of faux weekend socialist warriors.

  10. The mistake was not in who one voted for. The mistake was in thinking that anyone but Stalin was counting the votes.
