Friend or Foe

Do you recognize the two men above?

Thomas Jefferson and Maximilien Robespierre.

You and I live in a country where probably 300,000,000 people believe it is morally acceptable to infringe your Rightful Liberty.

If Robespierre were in the minority of Americans today who want Rightful Liberty, would you consider him and his tactics as Friend or Foe?

There is only one path back to your Liberty - and it is through the Enemies of Liberty.

  1. Two responses, following San Bernardino City Attorney James Penman telling residents to “lock your doors and load your guns” due to a lack of police presence in the California city because of bankruptcy.

San Bernardino Police Chief Robert Handy: "Residents exercising their Second Amendment right to own firearms results in crime." He also said “one of the biggest supplies of guns in our streets are guns taken in burglaries.”

Steve Turner, president of the San Bernardino Police Officers Association: Citizens arming themselves against criminals may lead to acts of vigilantism. “For the city attorney to come out and make a statement like that, it’s fear-mongering at its worst and it’s unnecessary, especially at a time like this when we all should be working together.”

  2. Reign of Terror. The Media is a good place to start the restoration or purging. Can anyone say Bengahzi.

  3. I think the most evil statement I read or see in action is "The end justifies the means."
I am also amazed at the calibre that the USA had as the Founding Fathers while imperfect, They truly were great men and how lucky this country was with them as founders.

  4. Ye know, this French fop was one of the few people in history I've ever had to honestly look up. I'd heard of him before, but he didn't quite ring the bell.

"Maximilien Robespierre remains a controversial figure to this day. Apart from one Metro station in Paris, there are no memorials or monuments to him in France. By making himself the embodiment of virtue and of total commitment, he took control of the Revolution in its most radical and bloody phase – the Jacobin republic. His goal in the Terror was to use the guillotine to create what he called a 'republic of virtue', wherein terror and virtue, his principles, would be imposed. He argued, "Terror is nothing more than speedy, severe and inflexible justice; it is thus an emanation of virtue; it is less a principle in itself, than a consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing needs of the patrie."

Now, where else have we seen 'terror' being used as a tool to push an agenda... Think real hard now, folks...

In the end, he was executed by the guillotine he so favored and championed as a tool of 'terror', and buried in a mass grave. How apropos. :)

  5. Question: Are American politicians who pervert the Constitution worthy of Robespierre's guillotine?

Are American voters who put those politicians in office worthy of that same slick guillotine, as they authorized the infringement of Rightful Liberty?

    1. Yes and yes. But the question is purely rhetorical, since those who want the Constitution upheld are more likely to be prosecuted that the betrayers.

Patriots have to start their long march to win more hearts and minds to their level of fidelity. As it is we have close to a majority (Republican voters) saying we shouldn't move too far from the Constitution, or too fast. We need to convince those same people that we can no longer afford the expansive federal state, period. Yes, the goal posts have moved: business as usual is now treason, because it is a deeper plunge into debt and servitude.
