Yeah. I have about 30lbs of cents. Most of the cents I have are all wheat cents. I think that 145 cents. equal a pound. I always wondered how many coins it would to make a bullet, not that's it illegal to melt the coins, I just wondered.

Can you folks see coppoers becoming used in an economy-down scenario for smaller purchases? For instance - do you think Mrs. Farmer John would take a few coppers for a dozen eggs, or do you think for the smaller purchases of daily necessities most people will want to barter instead?
I don’t see copper in the economy-down scenario you present, silver or barter yes, but as a promotional/challenge coin- yes, I give out copper just to get people aware of the idea of barter and coins that have intrinsic value, d’anconia copper - to get people thinking, 1/2 oz or 1oz III% coppers would be great conversation starters. I am thinking that pre-65 dimes will fill the gap, realistically in to-days economy, a dozen eggs with any profit for the farmer is going to be at least a dime. If the pre-82 copper is too small then you might look at minting the equivalent if the large cent ~ 11 grams. I am still thinking that for the most part barter will cover anything that a dime will not buy outright.
save all Old and new pennys. pre 1980 mostly copper , post zinc plated with copper. 70% copper + 30% zinc = brass. a jug of old pennys and a dead car battery = about 50 lds bang stik candy.

AOCS Mint has some nice 1oz ‘coins’, they also do custom orders, talk to them, I’d buy some III% copper to promote the cause.
