I'm sure that in any field full of horses, that if a particular turd were to lie dreaming out under the summer sun, it would imagine itself to be the best turd of all by being on top of the pile. It would compare itself to the other turds, in the other piles it could see. It might see one or two that were sitting aside greater piles and think that it was perhaps 2nd or 3rd in the world (maybe even 4th). At any rate, it wouldn't compare itself to the bloom of a rose, or an eagle soaring in the sky, or even the horse that put it there. It would look with disdain upon those droppings that instead of climbing high into piles, kept themselves low and made the field fertile.
ReplyDeleteLikewise, Obama does not compare himself to leaders who rule free men. For he most assuredly does not, nor does anyone he cares to look at. Were he to see one, his reaction would be disdain, if he could even recognize them. It's not just that he despises free men, or that he fails to understand them - it's that the notion of such is as far beyond him as differential equations are to a dog.
I can't say I have much good to say about any of those presidents.
