Enemies of Liberty are ruthless. To own your Liberty, you'd better come harder than your enemies..

Thought for the evening...

Have you ever noticed that the most broken, failed, sad and diseased Souls are usually the loudest and first to gratuitously attack?  The psychology involved is easy to understand - rather than to improve their own lives, the Sad Souls will do anything to ensure that you share their misery.

Lucky for the productive among us that it is easy to spot failed human beings by the way they carry themselves - they are usually the ones complaining, berating, finding fault with every plan and detail, never offering constructive solutions, and never producing anything more than misery.

...and, they tend to be really, really stupid people.  They are so stupid watching the Ford, when you intend to hit them with the Chevy.

Of course, their stupidity helps us all, until they breed.

The sunset above is from the Black Hills area of South Dakota, which is beautiful country, in an unforgiving manner.  It is a stock image I found on Google, as H and I are well beyond that area - we had the good fortune to travel through there this afternoon with lovely sunshine.

We also chose to use Rt 90 and cut through the North East corner of Wyoming when leaving Billings, where many of the FreeStaters settled.  There is absolutely nothing there in terms of work except ranching and farming, and service jobs, tending to ranchers and farmers.  If any of you know any FreeStaters, please invite them to consider our projects.  Their experiences would be very helpful.

This drive reminds me once again, as I rediscover with every cross-country drive, how lucky you and I are to live in this beautiful Country.  And that beauty comes in many flavors.

Enjoy Life, Patriots.  It is too short to let Earthly matters cloud your hearts.

We are building Tribe.  We are getting it done.

If the goal of the general Liberty Movement is to survive the coming storm and prevail, to be safe and to keep Liberty alive by building Tribe, you are doing it, right now.  Stand and be counted.

  1. Grew up in a little town called Custer, in the southern part of the Black Hills. Truly some magnificent country, yet I cannot wait to see the western side of the Rockies.

  2. If you have never driven all the way across this country it is almost impossible to grasp how huge it is and how much really empty space there still is. Of course much of the country west of the Mississippi is "owned" by the Federal government, but it is still an awesome experience to drive through it.

  3. Nice post. Winners build and losers destroy; it's pretty much that simple. That's why the country is in such a mess; building is outlawed almost completely and all the "work" is about what to destroy next. Hey, the only way we can be "equal" is if we're all zeroes.

From what I know about it, the FSW folk have an EXTREME streak of individualism. This doesn't mean they don't work with others or engage community efforts, but it does mean they don't EVER yield even a drop of their sovereignty, not actually and not symbolically. Hell, they didn't even go along with the Free State Project in NH, which is how it started. I think they have a lot to recommend their approach. That's not to make any comment about the Citadel, but there are differences, mainly philosophical.

There's a lot to be said for super-strong defense. Depending on how things play out, a fortress might look a ton smarter than a bunch of loose, albeit serious, individuals spread out over a huge area. Time will tell, I'm sure.

There's more than meets the eye in NE WY; not every liberty oriented community is setting up a tourist attraction. Plus, remember that in this hi-tech age, it's possible to live out in the sticks and still do city-oriented work. That's a growing trend for many years now; I do it myself.

Down south, Cheyenne, a fairly active (and windy!) city, is home to "Liberty's Torch," IMO the most important newspaper in the country, available on the web too. Brad and Barbie Harrington are a remarkable couple, who maybe have the best understanding of anyone of what going "from here to there" will involve. The paper focuses on local news with plenty of philosophy thrown in, and the stories are ubiquitous all over the country. They're making quite a splash, too.

Change is a'comin; that much is for sure. Building, creating, producing, call it what you will. It all means exactly the same thing--WIN!

  4. If you haven't already, get on Bear Tooth Hwy. It is around your way. SW tip of Montana going south into Yellowstone.

    1. Yes the Beartooth Highway is stunning. The road switchbacks up a 4,000 foot escarpment (don't tell anyone who fears heights!) to a plateau covered in alpine meadows and dotted with lakes and permanently snowcapped peaks. Definently a place to see before the communists destroy it while claiming to save the environment.
