Enemies of Liberty are ruthless. To own your Liberty, you'd better come harder than your enemies..

It is always personal

There is considerable hand-wringing about what NRA will or will not do regarding the 2A fight.

Stop worrying about them.  They will either be an ally, or not.  They will be on the field, but you can't control whether or not they will be Good Guys or Bad Guys.  They will never vote for genuine 2A Liberty, the most they will ever do is challenge the rate of infringement.

The major gun builders will never disobey FedGov mandates.  If Obama tells them to close their doors to the public, they will close their doors.  Ruger will never build anything in defiance of NFA and throw them off the backs of trucks to partisans.

Focus upon the ground beneath your feet.  Find a few others who will do the same, and stand at their shoulders or backs.  Wyoming again has taken point and floated a draft of legislation challenging FedGov, daring them to try to enforce 2A infringements within the state.  Let's see how many states follow suit.

But in the end we return a singular point: Government is not the problem - individuals who abuse the power of government are the problem.

Challenges to Liberty have never come from Government, and never will.  Such challenges are always personal

You will never set the sights of your rifle on Government.  You might put your sights on individuals who abuse the power of Government.

Never forget it is not NRA or FedGov or any other organization that is seeking to infringe upon you - it is always individuals.  Those individuals live among us.  Their families go to our grocery stores.  Their friends are known to you.

You are never more than a few moments away from someone who directly or indirectly abuses you by infringing your Liberty.

It is always personal.

Remember that...

  2. Look what Colt did a few years back - quit selling guns to everybody except the military and LEO. Their excuse was because of liability issues.
Don't know if they rescinded that mandate or not - as soon as I read that I put Colt completely out of my mind, even went down and had my Colt emblem tattoo covered.

  3. you're damn well right it's personal: individuals buy, carry, load and shoot weapons... individuals vocalize resentment to the over-reaching nature of Marxist policies... individuals vote... individuals bleed when rounds aimed in their direction strike... oh yes, it's personal and anyone who thinks and/or believes otherwise is likely suffering from terminal stupid... but they don't want just our guns mind you, they want our soul and would see us dead if they can't have it... the gun issue is just a fast-track way to the desired end for them...

    we'll see...

  5. I'd go even deeper. The problem is not the government, as there will always be a criminal element in society. The problem is in our own minds. Some people deserve to be free, others deserve to be slaves.

But yeah, it's personal. Just you and the cop, out there on the lonely highway...
