Training Question

I know many of you who train in Buddy Teams and Fire Teams - do you train for those times when you may link up with an ally who has lost his Buddy, or the Fire Team that is one man down?  What do you assign the odd man to do?  Scout?  Cover the rear?  Whatever it is - is it standardized across your unit and do you practice it?

If your Tribe does not use the standard 2-man or 4-man Team, what is your smallest fighting team?  3-man?  5?

J.C. Dodge: Fundamentals

J.C. Dodge offers another excellent post on the fundamentals that must be considered before Americans begin candidly expressing their political differences of opinion on a daily basis.  J.C. is one of the few trainers who takes the time to share his knowledge of the basics.  A post discussing ruck mods, or combat smocks, is hardly as glamorous and "cool" as post after post discussing 600-yard kill shots from a slick & tricked AR.  But if you die of hypothermia in the woods because you didn't think about what pants you'd wear during extended operations in a cold, wet spring or fall season - well, that would suck.  J.C. takes the time to truly educate Patriots on all aspects of what they need to know - not simply SUT drills and where to stick a knife into a bad guy.

Here's his post.  I commend it to you all.  I also suggest you give real thought to all aspects of your gear - not just the fun boom-sticks and shiny blades.  Hygiene and weather will likely kill more people than bullets in RevWarIII.  Don't be that guy who dies because you didn't think of the basics, got wet and cold and died of pneumonia.

And when you are ready to take your AR or sidearm or SUT skills to the next level, get yourself enrolled in one of J.C.'s classes at Mason Dixon Tactical.

III Percent Society

The III Percent Society is our attempt to build a strong, organized and effective III organization.

We intend to go into Harm's Way.

With JPFO now effectively taken out of the fight, there is only one serious, hardcore Liberty Organization standing with one foot in the political realm, and the other on the Town Green: The III Percent Society for America.

No Compromise.  Ever.

Stand and be counted with us.  Help us finance the fight for Rightful Liberty.  Help us outfit the TOC.  Help us fight for Liberty.  All members get great discounts from some of the best trainers in the Liberty Movement.

We've got the SWAG train moving, so over the coming weeks Members will find their III Society gear in the mailbox.

But the most important reason we ask you to join - so that when there is an event that needs Patriots in your AO, if the TOC is deployed or not, you can take point since you know the AO.  We need III Patriots in every county in America.

Consider joining us, here.  Bloggers & FB'ers, please help us by adding the logo on the right to your page, and linking to the III Society page: http://iiipercentsociety.blogspot.com/2014/07/simple-truth.html

We will succeed where other groups have failed - or sold out.

III Lapel/Hat Pins

III Lapel/Hat Pin - hat not included.
We've got IIIGear shipping this week, so I figured we'd offer the III Lapel/Hat Pins.  They are in stock and will ship by Saturday if you order before we hit the post office.  The hat is NOT included.

We've got several III projects running, and they all require money in the bank.  The TOC is one of the most important projects running right now, and we need to buy more gear for it.  You can support all of our III projects simply by purchasing an official III pin.

My thanks to each and every person who has helped support our projects over the years.  Nothing we do would be possible without you.

Yours in Liberty,

III Black Lapel Pin(s)

“We have historically been a paramilitary organization...”

“We have historically been a paramilitary organization,” observed Indianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite during a September 17 City Council meeting. “And we serve whoever sits in that chair, regardless of race, gender, creed, or political party. I don’t know what we would do if we had to go to battle, and we had to make a determination, based on past practices, whether or not we wanted to go into battle. … I am a soldier in an army. We serve you in that way…. We should not be in a position where we’re going to have to decide how we’re going to police this city.”

Para-military: adjective

adjective: paramilitary; adjective: para-military (of an unofficial force) organized similarly to a military force.

A word of caution to our LEO who think they are SEALs & SF - If you behave like a paramilitary force, you may not complain when citizens begin to treat you that way.

Yeah - about that "1 in 4 Americans support secession..." headline

Here's one of those guys: "I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference anymore which political party is running things. Nothing gets done," said Roy Gustafson, 61, of Camden, South Carolina, who lives on disability payments. "The state would be better off handling things on its own." [emphasis is mine - K]

I wonder who he thinks is going to pay for his food if South Carolina secedes.

He doesn't want secession for the sake of Liberty - he just wants a different nanny.  I suspect a very large percentage of that "1 in 4 support secession..." number are equally informed and thoughtful.

This is why there is only one means for Rightful Liberty to ascend...

The Stupid is too entrenched in our society for Liberty to ever be restored by logic or reason or voting.

2/3 of Americans can't name the three branches of FedGov.

Trying to change the fundamentals in our society that have led to this mind-blowing status is simply not possible - and these people are breeding.

Extirpate.  Not exterminate.  Not educate.  They can't be "fixed".  The only option is to be rid of these people, and to shed the dead weight these people impose upon the rest of us.  We must separate from them.  Their very presence makes it impossible for the rest of us to live in a state of Freedom.

They need to be encouraged to live elsewhere, leaving CONUS to real Americans who desire - and are capable of handling the responsibility of - genuine Liberty.

You and I debating the superiority of secession versus the Constitution versus anarchy doesn't do a single thing to resolve our base problem.  If we put our energy into convincing the stupid people to leave, the details of Liberty will take care of themselves.

In the face of extinction, which is inevitable at current course and speed, insisting that these people leave is not morally wrong.  In the face of extinction, which means you and I and our posterity will die if we permit the current paradigm to prevail, justifies the insistence that other countries that share vast quantities of Stupid, by choice, accept those who will be leaving our shores.  Countries that grumble about taking delivery of our rejects may be convinced to be more accommodating - by whatever means necessary.  Natural Law supports our bid to survive.

You and I are under no obligation to suffer because we are surrounded by stupid people.

We can, and we should, evict them.  Time is short.  If we allow such levels of Stupid to reign in our country for even one more generation, any chance of wide-spread Liberty in America will be lost.

Given the observations I have made during my life, I can't see it happening.  We are too few in numbers.  We are too tolerant.  As a group, we are too good-natured to do it.  We are committing suicide by standing by as this happens.  We see it, we understand what is happening in our lives because of the pervasive Stupid surrounding us.  But we remain idle as a group, and what activity there is doesn't appear to be effective to accomplish the simple goal of ridding ourselves of stupid people.

Defeatist?  No.  Realist.

Should you and I simply surrender to the inevitable, sign up for EBTs and just coast until we are older, then die?

Of course not.  That's not how we are wired.  We will continue, straight through what appears will be another Necessary Fail.  What happens then?

Hell if I know.

At this point, perhaps all we can define as "victory" will be to die before all Liberty does.

Keep swinging.  Don't quit.  But don't lie to yourself, either.

We're fooked.  Here's the link.

When doubt and hardship arrives, remember the Mission...

Rightful Liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.

If ever you lose your way during the coming sadness, if doubt captures you, just remember Mister Jefferson's Rightful Liberty.  Let that be your North Star.  Pursue Rightful Liberty through the darkness, hardships, pain.

That is our muster point.

What do you think of this statute?

Right of entry of city employees and agents.

Any employee or agent of the city, while in the necessary pursuit of his official duties, shall have the right of entry at all reasonable hours, and after reasonable advance notice to the owner, tenant, or person in possession, upon any premises and into any building in the city. Any restraint or hindrance offered to such entry by any owner, tenant, or persons in possession, or the agent of any of them may, by ordinance, be made a misdemeanor. (Statute is $1k fine and 6 months in jail.)

Not kidding.  That is the precise wording of the statute.  The city bases their authority on CAMARA v. MUNICIPAL COURT to get around 4A.

Despite obvious 4A, 5A and 14A issues, note the final sentence of the statute.  If you say "No", they claim the authority to pull what is called an "Administrative Warrant" and send LEO to ensure that "...any employee or agent of the city..." may gain entry.  Because it is classified by the courts as an "inspection" versus a "search", there is no "reasonable cause" necessary.

Thoughts?

Kerodin
III

**UPDATE**  A similar law being considered in NJ - this one would allow LEO to enter homes without a warrant if they merely suspect underage drinking may be taking place.  "Exigent Circumstances" no longer needs to be claimed.  Obviously the pretext is merely a detail - the goal is entry to your home by the State whenever, for whatever reason, pushing 4A deeper into the grave.  Here's the story.

"...and then, kick him in the testicles..."

Major Eric Sykes, of Fairbairn-Sykes fame, reportedly ended every Combatives class he taught at Camp X with the title of this post - "...and then, kick him in the testicles..."

He was part of the team put together to train SOE & OSS agents and commandoes.  He had a lot of experience in CQB, and he had many techniques to offer before the finale of a swift boot to the balls.

He was an advocate of point-shooting.  He was good at it.

He was a dangerous man.  He taught other men how to be dangerous.

Here's one of the books he wrote with his ally Fairbairn (it's an Amazon link) that I commend to all of you.  Title: Shooting to Live With the One Hand Gun

You do not need a slick & tricked AR to be dangerous.  You do not need a $700 knife.  You do not need to have studied serious martial arts from the time you were a toddler.

To be dangerous is from within

To be dangerous is a choice.  Then get a few tools and learn to use them - always driven by the conscious choice to be dangerous.

Ain't no Russians or ChiComs who want to come here, no way, no how...

One of the primary reasons given by most such flawed analyses is that Russia and China can't physically get here to hit us with an iron fist.  OK, I can't be bothered with that argument.  It's too stupid, and a Patriot just showed one way they could get here over at WRSA, if they chose.

But the one that tickles me most is the one that discounts everything that happened before the Wall fell.  You know, all that ancient history.  So what if Vlad used to be KGB - he's got a different worldview now.  And China has never wanted to conquer the world.

OK.  So in one or two generations 100 plus years of Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist Evil just - went away.

The perils of over-simplified Analysis

Why does the girl get raped?

Contrary to popular myth in America, it isn't because the rapist needs to vent violence.  It's because he wants SEX.  Sex is the sine qua non of rape.  At its core, it is that simple.  Rape is not unique to the Human species.  Sometimes violence is used to earn submission, but then the rape occurs.  The goal of the ordeal for him is sex. (Yes, obviously there are variables - but the common act in all rapes - sex)

Why do neighbors steal your stuff?  Because they want or need your stuff, or simply have the desire to deny you of your stuff.  That's it.

Why do nations go to war?  They want your stuff, need your stuff, or want to smite you for whatever reason they may have (like knocking you down a few pegs for decade upon decade of rubbing their noses in shit), or you stand in their way of prosperity or ideological goals.

That's it.

I am so amused when someone pontificates that X cannot be achieved because of Y & Z.

Folks, if a smart person wants X to happen, he simply works around, with, or through Y & Z, ignores them completely, or puts them in a ditch.

Hey, here's a funny one - there is NO WAY a mere 3 percent of a population could ever defeat a superpower!  HA!  Can't f'n happen.

Here's a bit of advice: If you are listening to or reading the work of someone who was still in Batman under-roos when the Wall fell, who was "educated" in American public schools or most private schools, then "trained" in .mil after the Wall fell, you must understand you are dealing with a person who has no real-world comprehension of Cold War realities, and has no real idea he was educated by Leftists, and worked for Leftists in the bureaucracy who want him to continue thinking China and Russia are no real threat, would never attack us, and that Communism is dead.

Yeah, keep listening to those guys...

The result will probably be firsthand lessons of rape at the hands of foreign soldiers upon the females in your charge.

Now, this is 'Analysis"...

Brilliance.  Patriots, your Mission - if you choose to accept it - is to help WRSA by going to sites you don't normally visit and find smart, thoughtful writers like this one who are genuine professionals, so he can link to them.  Take this request seriously, please.  WRSA is Ground Zero for information important to the III and Liberty.  Go forth and do your duty...

Even the muddle-headed John Kerry was recently heard to concede that Russia has “legitimate interests” in Ukraine. In challenging Russia over Ukraine the West isn't just crossing some imaginary “red line” that Obama is so fond of proclaiming again and again. In installing a neo-fascist, rabidly anti-Russian regime in Kiev, it has crossed the double-yellow, guaranteeing a head-on collision. Question is, which side will survive that collision: the Russian tank column, or John Kerry's limo? The West's opening gambit is to deny visas and freeze accounts of certain Russian officials and businessmen, who either don't have bank accounts in the West or have already pulled the money out last Friday (to the tune of a couple hundred billion dollars) and aren't planning to travel to the US.

Russia promised to respond “symmetrically.” In its arsenal is: popping the huge financial bubble and causing a resumption of the financial collapse of 2008 by any number of means, from requiring gold instead of fiat currency as payment for oil and gas, to dumping US dollar reserves (in concert with China), to putting the EU on a fast track to economic collapse by giving the natural gas valve a slight clockwise twist, to leaving US and NATO troops in Afghanistan (who are about to start evacuating) stranded and without resupply by declaring force majeure on the cooperative arrangement currently in effect, where much of their resupply route is allowed to pass through Russian territory. That's if Russia chose to act decisively. But Russia could also choose to do little or nothing, and then just the financial contagion from Ukraine's forthcoming bond default and financial jitters over Ukrainian chaos disrupting natural gas deliveries to Europe could be enough to topple the West's teetering financial house of cards.

Personally I differ with the author slightly, as many of you know.  I am a firm believer that Golitsyn was correct.  Obviously a plan for world conquest that spans generation is not micro-managed in the Kremlin.  Fellow Travelers set a goal, a few waypoints as indicators to ensure the plan is working, then ride the avalanche until the time is right for D-Day and H-Hour, whatever X-Factors may pop-up in the interim.

SEAL Training & Trained Seals...

I wrote the piece below nearly 4 years ago.  I never meant to be a blogger, much less for 4 years.  I've accomplished some important goals with the help of you Patriots who give a damn.  The time is coming for a change.

The below piece is as true today as when written, and perhaps now in hindsight a few of you will grasp the full scope.

~~

Consider: Anyone familiar with BUD/s knows that one mental and physical technique used to weed out the weaker minds and bodies is to put Sailors in the cold pacific surf until they reach the very limits of physiologic ability, skirting hypothermia.  A physician is on-hand to monitor core temperatures and enable Instructors to push and push and push, right to the edge.

At the right moment the Sailors are called from the surf and allowed to circle a fire...just beyond the warmth.  They can see it, they know that a single step nearer the fire will provide some comfort.  They stand there, shivering uncontrollably, teeth chattering, minds screaming for warmth and respite.  As their bodies creep a bit back into the safe-zone of core temperature, the call is made and the order given - back into the surf!

The lesson here is that Government, in this case US Navy SEAL Instructors, understand just how far they can push before something snaps.  If you do not push hard enough, you will end up with weak links in the Teams.  Push too hard, and the organism fails - sailors die in the surf.

Push just right...you end up with a Navy SEAL.

Look across our society and see if you can find that same pattern being employed by those who would be our Masters.

Taxes: They take enough to ensure that you and your family must work constantly.  We do not have the time or energy to march on Washington.  We are too busy to even pay attention, most of the time.  They do not dare man-up and just admit that they are going to take 70% or more of every dollar you earn, but they get it anyway.

The taxes that come out of your check are only the chunk they are bold enough to take from you, daring you to do anything about it.  They get the rest of it every time you buy a good or service.  Buy a loaf of bread, the Government gets a cut.  Buy a meal at a restaurant, the Government gets a cut.  Put gas in your tank, fix a leaky toilet, install windows in your home, hold a yard sale, and Government gets a cut.

Die, and Government gets a cut of everything you leave behind.

They constantly fiddle with the flame under the pot.  They add a bit more heat (taking more money) when we'll tolerate it, and they turn the heat down a bit when we start to get grumpy.  Remember the Sailors running to and from the surf?

Same same.

Butter is running $3.50 - $4.75 per pound here.  Milk is at an all-time high.  A half-decent steak runs $12+ at the grocery store.

Fuel: When I was courting my wife in 2002, gas was $1 a gallon.  A few summers ago it shot to $4.50 in the DC area.  I was driving my dream truck - a black Chevy Dooley 4x4 with the 8100 engine.  Not at $4.50 per gallon!

Americans threw a fit, and prices eased, and have now crept back to just about $3 per gallon.  There was no legitimate market force driving gasoline to $4.50/gallon.  The Instructors were running us to the surf and the fire, determining just how much they could charge for gasoline.  They wanted to find that sweet-spot just before we revolt.

It seems to be about $3.50/gallon.

TSA: Our Masters want to know everything.  Knowledge is power.  Right now we are in the surf and paying $4.50/gallon as regards the Fourth Amendment.  They are putting their hands on you wife's rack!

They'll back off, but you'd better believe the line marking the New Normal for Fourth Amendment encroachment will be leaps and bounds past where it was just a week before TSA started going knuckle deep.

Americans will settle for the New Normal, and Government will enjoy a net gain in power and knowledge about Americans, who will settle for almost anything, so long as it isn't knuckle-bumping the mons.

Patterns.  Look for them, and you will see them.  Then you can begin to counter.

But you will be swimming upstream, because the majority of Americans won't understand or care.  Most of them agree with the violations, with only shades of gray between them as to just how far is too far, or how much is too much.

Government always advances in power.  That is the pattern.

America is doing to itself what no power on Earth would be able to force upon us.
We are running, full speed and with abandon, into the arms of what History will one day record as the most efficient Police State ever to exist on the planet.

Snitches are a tool used very effectively by Government.

Snitches often ply their trade covertly, though the most successful are often right out in public, for everyone to see, wearing camouflage and singing the song you want to hear.

Snitches get paid by Government.  Sometimes it is with cash or by check.  Sometimes it is through favors.

Look for it, you'll see the payoff, even if you don't want to admit it.

Perhaps the height of success in our lifetimes as regards Citizens snitching on one another was under the legendary  Mischa Wolf and his Stasi.

Those in America who would be our Masters know the tools and methods of State oppression and subjugation.  They know too that to bring America under control is a generational endeavor.  They have been at it for many generations, and they are near their end move.

Government serves as a generation-spanning tool in their efforts, for it provides institutional memory.  Today's newest Federal LEO is taught the techniques of running snitches by the retiring class, and they will refine and improve the art, recording it in training manuals, and handing off the methodology to the next generation.  But it is not restricted to snitches.  Every tool of Collectivist encroachment advances in parallel.

Control is not simply a matter of trained seals (Americans) following laws, regulations and taxes...it is also $4.50 gasoline.

The next time you are offered the lesser of evils, for instance: Pat-down or x-ray, take a moment and examine the premise of the offer.

Is there a third option?

There is always a third option...

Why Does Vlad Want Ukraine?

It only takes one or two slow-wits to ruin a bushel.

Here is why Vlad is taking Ukraine, in bulleted points so I can avoid a long discussion:
  • NATO is poking the Bear, and the Bear doesn't like being poked
  • Novorossiya - Ukraine and Russia have a history together that is none of our business
  • Ukraine is the "Breadbasket of Europe".  Control the food and you control much, much more - and if you are Russia and you don't control the breadbasket in Ukraine, you have hungry Russians....
  • Black Sea - The Kremlin refuses to be shut out of the Black Sea for serious military reasons
If you need more reasons than those listed - they exist.  But the above are the big and immediate ones.  Go do your homework if it matters to you.

We could add "World Domination" to the list, but that would just be silly, overly-simplistic nonsense for an old spy pulp.  Heh...

Here's PJB on the matter.

"We have to be more mainstream..."

There are those who claim the Liberty Movement, and the III in particular, must become more "mainstream" and socially acceptable to win Hearts & Minds.  Personally, I think of Hearts & Minds of the general masses the way Patton thought of his flanks - they were the enemy's problem.

Let's get a few people unfucked:

The III is NOT, and never will be, the Hearts & Minds arm of the Liberty Movement.

The III is that tiny minority of Patriots who give other people the room to worry about the Hearts & Minds of people who don't care about Liberty and don't care about your principles.

The III is that tiny minority of Patriots who make it possible for others to provide bread and showers to the hungry and dirty.

The III is that tiny minority who go in Harm's Way, break the enemy, so that others may ignore us, judge us, pontificate about us, publish works for or against our actions with their blood-free hands and superior moral attitudes.

Do not get it twisted: The III has a singular purpose.  The III goes to the Green.  The III breaks the Enemies of Liberty.  Those Patriots too old to march to the Green, will be III from the windows, the porches, the cabs of their trucks.

Hearts & Minds?  The III wins Hearts & Minds by keeping as many good people alive and as many tyrants as possible not...

That's it.  Full stop.

III Patriots stand tall and do Hard Things.

There is a blurring of the lines in the Liberty Movement today.  There are Propagandists, Pamphleteers, REMFs, genuine Intel assets, Auxiliary - and the III.  The III are those Patriots who are willing to stand between the Enemies of Liberty and everyone else, armed and ready to kill or die.

Stop condemning the III because you do not understand the roles and positions of the players.

Yes, there does need to be a socially acceptable, politically credible, public face of the Liberty Movement. Ultimately they are called politicians, and even the Liberty Movement has them.  And that aspect of the Liberty Movement will never, ever, be able to embrace the part of the Liberty Movement that is responsible for cutting heads off tyrannical fucktards or hanging tyrants from lamp posts.

Indeed, the public face must criticize the part of the Liberty Movement that is willing to do the Hardest Things, must make them outcasts - must, ultimately, when Liberty is once again secured, throw us under the bus and nod their heads when the meek middle is once again safe and standing in judgment of those who are now "War Criminals".

The III Percent Patriots in America will be hung or shot in the face by Enemies of Liberty, or one day will be permitted to be hung or shot in the back of the head by the lickspittle appeasers.

Why will that happen in RevWarIII when it didn't happen in RevWarI?

Because already there is a loud knot of agitators infiltrated into the Liberty Movement who have declared where and when RevWarIII must end, when enough is enough, how Patriots must behave and fight and when, where, and how.  That is because they do not mean to eradicate Evil, merely replace it, to allow it to escape.  They do not mean to follow the counsel of many in RevWarI who demanded all Tories and Loyalists be run from the continent.  They do not believe in Patton's call to continue to Moscow when it was possible.

This time there can be no heed paid to those who cry "They've had enough!  Stop!"

All who do not live by the premise of Rightful Liberty must be extirpated from CONUS.

All. Of. Them.

Or, Patriot - after you have gone to the Green, into Harm's Way, you will be put down.

Extirpate.

I wonder how many people worthy of and capable of genuine Rightful Liberty told Patrick Henry to sit down and shush when he said Liberty or Death.  Some did - and our Founders allowed them to remain after Yorktown.  Let's not repeat their mistake.

Liberty or Death.  Convert, leave, or die.  Today, many say it, only a few mean it.

There is no room in America for those who do not mean it.

When you set out to take Vienna, TAKE VIENNA!

Is Ebola only the Sparklie? From Colorado to Georgia, your kids...

A respiratory illness that has already sickened more than a thousand children in 10 states is likely to become a nationwide problem, doctors say.

The disease hasn't been officially identified but officials suspect a rare respiratory virus called human enterovirus 68. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is related to the rhinovirus, which causes the common cold.

The disease hasn't been officially identified in every state, but in some states a rare respiratory virus called human enterovirus 68 has been found. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is related to the rhinovirus, which causes the common cold.

According to Mark Pallansch, director of the Division of Viral Diseases at the CDC, similar cases to the ones in Colorado have been cropping up across the U.S. At least 10 states -- Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia -- have reported suspected outbreaks of human enterovirus 68 and requested CDC support.

"Viruses don't tend to respect borders," ABC News Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser said. "It is only 10 states now, but it's going to be across the country. So if your state doesn't have it now, watch for it, it's coming."

Doctors say they are not even sure yet how this particular virus spreads, though the back-to-school season is a normal time for illnesses to spread among children.

Borders exist for a reason.

Former Polish president – and famed anti-communist activist – Lech Walesa agrees that the U.S. and Nato’s arming of Ukraine could lead to a nuclear war.

One other thing. Russia has about, I think, 10,000 tactical nuclear weapons, sometimes called battlefield nuclear weapons. You use these for short distances. They can be fired; you don’t need an airplane or a missile to fly them. They can be fired from artillery. But they’re nuclear. They’re radioactive. They’ve never been used. Russia has about 10,000. We have about 500. Russia’s military doctrine clearly says that if Russia is threatened by overwhelming conventional forces, we will use tactical nuclear weapons. So when Obama boasts, as he has on two occasions, that our conventional weapons are vastly superior to Russia, he’s feeding into this argument by the Russian hawks that we have to get our tactical nuclear weapons ready.

Riddle me this: If your neighbors in your neighborhood, those immediately surrounding your property lines and fences, started mounting machinegun nests and pointing them at your home, into your yard where your children play, how long would you tolerate such behavior before you burned every one of those homes to the ground?

Do not tell me Vlad does not have not only a legitimate Natural Law Right to defend his borders from American meddling, but indeed, a moral obligation to his Countrymen to do so.

But discussing it is less than futile.  You and I can't legitimately do anything to stop it.  Bad Peopleat the highest reaches of many world governments have decided that World War is inevitable and desirable - and they have already set the machinations into motion.

All you and I can do: Try to survive, then hold anyone we can find in the aftermath responsible for their crimes.

Redoubt

A Redoubt: A temporary or supplementary fortification, typically square or polygonal and without flanking defenses.

Some of us have chosen to form the hard nucleus of our defensive and productive community by living in close proximity to one another in a particular county in a particular state.  A walled city?  Maybe, one day.  Piece-by-piece and bit-by-bit. But the concept is evolving as we warned all that it would.  I can promise you some individual homesteads will be walled, and some neighbors will share defensive walls, among other terrain-sculpting features to enhance defense and improve survivability and mobility.  I can make many more comments about the Citadel and those who choose to live as part of that community - but this isn't the place.  Families have moved in, and more are coming to be part of a strong, Liberty-respecting community.  We are bringing businesses, the ability to be self-sustaining and charitable when the world shits the bed.

(For the record: I never read a word Rawles had written until he started running his mouth about my wife.  We'll chat about that, one day...)

The larger American Redoubt, as defined by Rawles and his followers, is lacking a fundamental requisite for any regional Redoubt: Access to the sea.  Without access to the sea, you have nothing.  I can't even be bothered with the arguments - and I have never once heard or read a convincing argument for any land-locked redoubt.  Without access to the sea, too many doors close to be taken seriously as a sustainable regional Redoubt.  Rather than argue about it, I'll simply include the entire states of Washington & Oregon in my definition of the regional Citadel Redoubt.  Why Oregon?  Lewiston, Idaho has the furthest inland seaport in America, as Jamie can tell you.  If you can't hold the route from Lewiston to the Pacific - ya gots nuthin'.

But K - what about all those hippie/Leftists in Portland and Seattle?

Most of them will be part of the primary die-off.  Those of us in the deeper parts of the Redoubt will not need the sea in the first year - so let them kill each other and suffer the disease and famine, then it's a simple exercise to come down from the Cascades and secure the beachfront property and shipping hub.  Many of the seaboard survivors will be people we can deal with - like men who run fishing platforms and know how to feed themselves.  Coming down from the Cascades with the bounty of the inner redoubt to trade for those things that can be had in a seaport city makes for handshakes, not gunfights.

But having access to the Pacific for food and trade is a sine qua non for any serious mid-term (1-5 year) sustainability plan for the larger Citadel Redoubt.

Why am I calling it the "Citadel Redoubt"  So it doesn't get confused with similar, though less prudent, concepts.

Oh, please...Russian General Demands Preemptive Nuclear Strike Doctrine Against NATO

Folks, this is a headline, not news.

Rightful Liberty by the numbers

The fundamental question: Has the notion of Rightful Liberty expanded or contracted since 1776?

Does the concept of Rightful Liberty have any legs among Mankind?

The numbers say - not so much.

A powerful notion or idea sweeps the planet in a generation or three - and that was pre-internet.  Now with the net powerful notions can literally catch fire in hours and rise to global recognition in less than a day.

Say what you will about the Constitution - RevWarI was not fought for the Constitution, it was fought for the notion of individual Liberty, best expressed by Jefferson's Rightful Liberty quote used so often around here: Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.

It has been 238 years since the DoI, and of course people had already been killing one another over the notion of individual Liberty for a while when July 4, 1776 rolled around.  Since then we've had a couple-hundred years without the internet, and a couple decades with the 'net.  Jeffersonian Liberty hasn't caught on - not even here.

Let's compare to a topic with which I am quite knowledgeable: Aiki.

We'll focus just on the Aiki-do variant for the sake of easy numbers, and Aikidoka - please let's not have a debate.  Modern Aikido is a joke in most dojos.  If you do not get to the Aiki-jutsu roots of the art, you've got nothing.  And do NOT write me and try the argument that "Aikido is the actual practice of Rightful Liberty" - don't waste my time or yours.

Anyway, the old guy in the picture is Morihei Ueshiba, credited by the world for the "creation" of Aikido.  He died in 1969 (just 2 years after my birth) and the word "Aikido" began to be used in the 1920 - 1930 period as Ueshiba began to refine his formidable martial skillset (primarily based on Daito-ryu Aikijutsu) into the kinder and gentler Aiki that has today, in most schools, been reduced to the combat effectiveness of a dance & massage parlor.

Anyway, compare Rightful Liberty - over which a world war was essentially fought - to Aikido, and tell me which has more reach of active participants.  Aikido practitioners number in the tens-of-millions and is practiced in every country on the planet.  Aikido can't be compared to something like McDonalds (which is also global), because Aikido training requires the participants to get off the sofa, pay money, and physically invest considerable energy in every session.  That is a notion that has "caught-on" in the world.

How many people in America - even one day per week for 60 minutes - get off the sofa, drive to another location, pay money, exert physical energy, to advance Rightful Liberty?

Was the notion of Rightful Liberty Mister Jefferson put forth and the war fought over it simply a birthing contraction, a natural evolution of the Greek and Roman notions, that will now begin to expand once more in violence across the world, or was it merely an aberration that will be snuffed out of existence because so few refuse to embrace it and become a practitioner?

Sadly, I think the odds are better for the survival of hippy-based Aikido dojos than Rightful Liberty.

It's not "Coming to America" - It's here, right now...

Normalcy Bias: This could never happen here.  This sort of thing only happens to people in foreign lands who speak funny languages, and it only happens in history books.

If you do not think this can happen here, in your lifetime, I would suggest you un-fuck yourself most ricky-tick.

Evolution of the Liberty Tree, or just a dead branch...

I wrote this a while ago at Kerodin - decided to post it here as well:

My shugyo days are long behind me.

I'm not ready to find a cave and write my book of five rings, though.  I have tasks before me that will demand all of my skills and experiences.  I have Patriots to meet, to teach, from whom I still have much to learn, and with whom to stand in the name of Rightful Liberty.

At least once each year I try to write a piece designed to remind my fellow III Patriots that there is more to life than the fight for Liberty.  But for some of us that fight for Liberty is hard-wired and inescapable.  When we find infringements in our daily lives, we do not hunch our shoulders and move on - we turn and square-up to the problem.  It is our raison d'etre.

You and I are part of the Natural Order of the Universe, as designed by Providence.  Each decision we take courses through the Universe, changing it.  As ursus maritimus evolved from ursus arctos, everything we do affects the 'DNA' of creation.  You and I are creating the future of Man, as is every other person on this spinning rock.

Just as the anomaly of a white-coated Grizzly was rewarded by the Natural Order, so too will Man be affected by the outcome of our imminent Candid Exchange of Views.

When generations of Man continue to breed while living in a state of Liberty, eventually the DNA will evolve and more young bipeds will be born with an innate and powerful yearning to live in that same state.  However, as is the way of the Natural Order, competing traits such as sloth, deceit, and a sense of moral entitlement to the fruits of another mans labor, are also impacting the DNA of Man.  When Freemen breed with Freemen, they will grow little Freemen from the womb.  And as Human Parasites breed with their fellow travelers, they grow children who are innately parasitic.  When Poodles mate, they have baby Poodles.

These are not my rules, I simply recognize how things work.

Man has only been on Earth for a dozen million years, and recognizable to us as few as a two hundred thousand years ago.  Mankind is essentially a cherry in the Universe.  We only began to separate from our Hunter-Gatherer roots about 12,000 years ago.  Natural and artificial selection forces are at work on Man, taking us to a place we can't see from here.

Man is something to be surpassed.

You and I are part of that process.  Earth has seen five Extinction Level Events (ELE) and Humans may perish at any moment.  Whether an asteroid takes us out or we do it to ourselves with the weapons we create, tomorrow is not guaranteed to Man.  Yet every day we remain, every day we continue to breed, every decision we take affects the Humans who will come after us.

Most change in our Universe is a byproduct of violence.  Violence changes the course of existence.  An asteroid ended the dinosaurs and gave eventual rise to Humans.  That was a violent event.  And as our species fights to assert dominance over our fellow Man, that violence alters our evolutionary course.  Our Founding Generation in America is that mutation of Man that first demanded and then succeeded in establishing Rightful Liberty for their Tribe.  As everyone reading this column knows, it was only through savage violence that the Liberty Gene was able to survive and begin to take root in the DNA of Man - specifically Americans.

Yet every generation since our Founding has seen the Liberty Gene under pressure by the hard-wired Humans who would be Masters.  Will the Liberty mutation of Man be snuffed from the gene pool?  That is something you and I have a direct ability to influence.  Is the surpassing of Man dependent upon you and me working first to keep the Liberty gene alive while reducing the dominance of those who mean to be Masters?

It would seem so.

And it is that group of Humans who mean to be Masters who are pushing to remain the dominant bloodline of Mankind through violence.  It is not the Liberty gene pool that is murdering fellow men.  It is not the Liberty-inclined who seek badges and use weapons to murder homeless and old and other men in cold blood under color of law.  Not one Liberty-loving Soul has ever joined the ranks of the genocidal evil manifested in people such as Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot.

You and I are part of the evolutionary process, whether we wish to be or not.  You and I have the ability to help Man surpass itself and inch closer to Ghandi and Jefferson.  You and I will face violence brought by those who mean to be Masters, and through that violence we will affect the future of Man, whether we win or lose.  If we lose, or we take the decision not to respond to that violence, we still impact the evolution of our species, though we help undermine the Liberty gene.

You and I have the gift of being able to help Mankind evolve toward a state of Liberty, an evolution that will endure until Man is no more.  That is immortality.

The question is then simple: What kind of world do you want for your posterity?

The violence of change and opportunity, our Candid Exchange of Views, is imminent.

Stand and be counted.  Help our species evolve.  Be willing to do the Hard Things required to ensure the Liberty gene is not ripped from the DNA of Man.  Leave your mark on Humanity for your posterity.  Do your part to reduce the dominance of the genetic perversion that creates Humans with a desire to be Masters.

In the end, remember that you must die.

When on your deathbed will you look back upon your life and know that you helped Man in his quest to evolve and surpass himself?

Combatives: II

Colonel Biddle showing a palm strike, with a dash of eye-gouging.  Note his left hand has the enemy by the waistband.  There are times it may be important to drop your enemy on an X at your feet, rather than let momentum send him sprawling.  There are times it may be important to keep your enemy in close, if he is trying to create space.  Biddle is in absolute control, and if this training pic was real, there would be no worries of a counter-strike by the enemy.  He's done.
Some clarification is obviously in order regarding a few recent posts regarding Combatives.

"Why X instead of Y?"  "What about Krav?"  "What do you mean MACP isn't ideal, if you are recommending it?"

OK, let's begin with a few simple definitions so we are all on the same page.

"Combatives" is fighting at close quarters without firearms.  Other sidearms, such as your blades, are included in Combatives.  The Japanese short sword, called a wakizashi, literally translates to sidearm.  Improvised weapons such as a brick and a shield fall under the Combatives umbrella, for my purposes.  If a physical distance helps you - I use 30 feet as my metric for what falls into "Combatives".  Beyond 30 feet, you should have time to begin the fight with your firearm, or to run like hell with a little head start.

"CQB/CQC" is Combatives, adding personal firearms into the mix.

"Combatives" must be fundamentally intended to either take your enemy out of the fight, or give you enough time to deploy a personal weapon - to take your enemy out of the fight.  "Combatives" should not be a stand-alone aspect of your skillset.  If you can't transition from deflecting a man who wants to slip a garrote around your neck to breaking him with your body, drawing your knife, or getting your firearms into play, your Combatives suck.

Combatives is a bedrock skill.  You build upon it.  Just as you must learn fundamentals of your rifle before you begin sniper training, this candid exchange of political views begins and ends with your ability to stay alive when a man - or men - are trying to kill (or capture) you at contact range.

Here's the bottom line.

First: If you are able, get to a Krav Maga studio for a solid six months of real training.  1 class per week doesn't do you much good.  One class per day, six days per week, for six months.  Two classes each day - more better.  I know most people can't commit to a 60-90 minute class every night.  But try to find a way.

Next: The US Army MACP (Modern Army Combatives Program) is my recommendation for most of you who plan to train together in small groups.  The primary reason I recommend MACP is because there is plenty of information available publicly for graduate-level study in SOCP (Special Operations Combatives Program), which is essentially geared for troops in full kit.  I would suggest to you that if you ever face a stack, you'll probably be faced with an incoming team of guys who have trained, on some level, in some variation, of the SOCP system - plus your room/building-clearing techniques.

If you never plan to fight in full kit, MACP is still a solid, well-documented system of techniques, you just don't have to bother with the SOCP aspect.  If you never plan to fight in full kit, you can also consider more fighting system options.

MCMAP: The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program is also a fundamentally solid system, with plenty of public documentation so small groups can adopt the system and work on developing skills.

Everyone: Krav for 6 months.

Teams/Militia: MACP/SOCP or MCMAP.

What about "MMA" schools and single-system schools such as Aiki or Brazilian Ju-Jutsu?  You'll have to invest too many years in any single system to become combat proficient with them.  The two .mil programs above include many techniques from several systems, assembled in a logical order that cuts away a lot of what you don't need to know to stay alive in a sudden scrum.  They are, for all intents and purposes, MMA systems.

Downside to current .mil systems: First let me make it clear - there are more pros than cons regarding the .mil systems.  My complaint with them is that they are designed more for a "Peacekeeping" force than for killing the enemy with an economy of motion and energy.  Without a doubt anyone who is proficient in MACP/SOCP or MCMAP will fuck up your day if you tangle with him for too long.  However, a man proficient in the Combatives taught by Fairbairn, Sykes, Applegate, Biddle and others in WWII will kill most MACP/SOCP & MCMAP fighters, most of the time.

Is the Fairbairn & Company system "better" than the modern .mil programs.  As a whole, for killing enemies at close range in the shortest amount of time - yes.  But you have to understand that there are Fairbairn & Company techniques in the .mil programs - but they are not the driving force of the systems.  The Mission since the days of Fairbairn & Donovan has changed within our military, and that Mission shift is what drives the current curriculum.  Believe me, the troops in the field when WWIII gets truly ugly, will shed most of their .mil CQB training and settle on about a dozen quick, lethal techniques when they get into bayonet range.

Where can you go to learn the techniques taught by Fairbairn & Company?  Not too many places in America, today.  Seattle.  Prescott, Arizona.  That's really about it.

Unless you are coming to Idaho...
