Ain't no Russians or ChiComs who want to come here, no way, no how...

One of the primary reasons given by most such flawed analyses is that Russia and China can't physically get here to hit us with an iron fist.  OK, I can't be bothered with that argument.  It's too stupid, and a Patriot just showed one way they could get here over at WRSA, if they chose.

But the one that tickles me most is the one that discounts everything that happened before the Wall fell.  You know, all that ancient history.  So what if Vlad used to be KGB - he's got a different worldview now.  And China has never wanted to conquer the world.

OK.  So in one or two generations 100 plus years of Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist Evil just - went away.

OK.

Hatfields.

McCoys.

Ever heard of them?  Think they were playing games or just fussing over a back fence?

People hold grudges - sometimes for no good reason, sometimes for deathly serious reasons, like religion and ideology.

Under-estimate the level of Fuck You the other guy holds for you at your peril.

If you die by AK fire I will not feel smug or superior, I'll probably be ducking and wishing I hadn't just lost another American who was able to pull a trigger, but too fucking stupid to know when or at whom.

And yes, Team BearDragon has plenty of minor-league allies right here at home, carrying their water and using ARs and .Gov Sigs.

So?  What does that have to do with the price of bat guano in Jamaica?

  1. In addition, Joe Chink has a vested interest in making sure the USG paper he holds will get paid back - by whatever means necessary.

In a world where people die over a few thousand dollars, a trillion $ plus is worth fighting over.

  2. All I know is that when it rains, it often pours. That's alright with me.

  3. Americans have an uncanny knack for taking the short view. We tend to think that when the flames are out, the fire danger has passed. Much of the rest of the world takes the long view. If it takes a couple of generations to get retribution, then that is fine with them. The accounts will be settled, with interest added. Why we, as Americans, refuse to acknowledge this fact is a mystery to me.

The Russians and Chinese have not stopped hating us. The average peasant may be too focused on bread or rice, but the Power in those countries have not.

  4. By this argument, we better keep a close eye on those Japs and Krauts . . . BTW, wasn't it one of the former who (allegedly, although he was likely astute enough to understand it even if he never wrote it down) said:

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

and one of the latter who (indisputedly) said:

"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Unfortunately, the vast majority of the aforementioned rifles will never be fired at the REAL enemy, because those holding them have fallen for Herr Goering's ruse to an extent even he would find difficult to believe.
